Civil rights are a set of liberties enacted in the Constitution to ensure that individuals or groups of people are protected from discrimination based on various aspects such as gender, race, ethnicity, political affiliation, sexual orientation, religion, disability or any other criteria that exist.
Migrants are some of the most vulnerable groups of people in any society this is due to their considered alien status as most of them may lack the relevant legal documentation to be in the host country leading to a situation where they can become easy targets especially by law enforcement who may at times subject them to racial profiling and arrests based on one reason or another.
Civil society groups and organizations thus exist to protect individuals both citizens and immigrants from this otherwise disparaging conditions that they may at times have to endure and are also responsible for getting recourse for them incase the infringement has already occurred.
